Yesterday was Thanksgiving, it was a good day until I was put in the bedroom with Fiona for 4 hours. At least they put us in the bedroom with the electric blankie, litter box and food. We missed all the excitment, the company, family , the new baby, the food, and the racoon family that walked on to the deck to tear open the garbage bag full of food. There was an entire family of raccoons eating the left over turkey dinner until they got scared away by all the human faces staring at them through the glass doors.
We never got any turkey for dinner, not a morsal. Mom says she will give us some tomorow when dad goes to work. We didn't do anything today but rest and watch movies and catch up on the latest kitty blogs. Mom doesnt't do Black Friday, she is not about to get up that early to wait in long lines in the cold. She likes to shop online. Her new camera was jsut delivered today, it's charging, she is a little confused with it and hopes to figure it out this weekend so she can take more pictures of ME!
This weekend we are still going to take it easy, it's been a very busy week with driving to Iowa to get Fiona, the baby, all the commotion, shopping for Thanksgiving dinner, cleaning, cooking and decorating, etc. She says she is tired and wants to relax this weekend. I think I will relax with mom and wish all of you a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Talk to you all soon, but for now we rest and relax!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!
Good morning to all my kitty, doggie, and human friends:
This is a very busy time for everyone. I know my mom has lots to do today and tomorrow. I think it's better for me to stay out of the way today and take a nice long nap under the electric blankie while mom does all her running around , cleaning and cooking today. So before she starts her day I wanted to thank everyone for all your support and friendship, I am truly a blessed kittty, eventhough I don't have fur, or whiskers.
I have a lot to be thankful for, a warm home, warm blankies, electric blanket, human mom and dad, medical care for my heart murmur, and even Fiona. I can't forget that I am new Uncle to Aidan. I don't know if I will see him since I am being locked in a bedroom with Fiona. I heard them say I can't be trusted not to run out the door when people come in and out and jumping on everyone's lap to get petted, something about being a HAM. What's wrong with that! Humans! It's only a few hours and then I get turkey on my plate. Yumo!
I can't forget all of you. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I wish you all a very blessed and joyous Thanksgiving and lots of turkey on your kitty plates.

It's a Boy!
Mom and dad are so excited, they have their very first grand baby, a boy named Aidan. He is 7 lbs 10 ounces and 19 inches long. He is absolutley perfect and looks like an angel I heard them say. I also heard that when he comes for Thanksgiving that Fiona and me have to be locked up. What did I do? Why do I have to be locked up just because family is visiting? First Fiona and now this. The unrightousness of it all.
Mom found out that I was thinking of selling Fiona on e-bay, she was not happy , she said something about possible snow on Thanksgiving and me being out in the cold without a fur coat. I decided to make the best of it. I am an indoor cat, I hate the cold and I don't have a fur coat to keep me warm so I am liking Fiona a little better every day. I want to thank everyone for their support and kind words of encouragement about Fiona. I know mom is very tired, it was a full day yesterday so I think I will take a nap too.

Fiona is home!
Fiona made it home. She traveled all the way home from Iowa on mom's lap. She didn't come with a carrier, but mom said she laid on her lap all the way home and slept most of the almost 5.5 hours home. Mom said she is smaller than she thought she would be. She still has a baby face, she seems much younger than the 1.5 years she is supposed to be.
Our first meeting did not go well. She seemed to like me but she smelled funny to me and I hissed at her and tried to attack her. I don't know why, I'm a lover not a fighter but I had a strong negative reaction to her. Mom and dad had to separate us, separate food stations, litter boxes and gates went up. I had to sleep with dad in the back bedroom while Fiona had the run of the house last night.
Mom said she stayed in the bedroom with her and ventured out into the hallway to eat. She loves this little heated cube home that neither Lady Harley and I would go into. She loves it, it's her home and safe place. Mom let me out of the room so we could get to know each other. She seems to like me but I am still not sure of her. I follow her and sometimes hiss but I have not attacked her. Mom said that Fiona likes to rub her face on mom's face but then bite. Mom stops it and doesn't know what to do. Right now Fiona is asleep in her new bed and I am down here on the laptop with mom. All is calm now.
Ps.. Anyone want a fur-challenged sister? I am willing to sell her when mom is not home.

Fiona and me.
I appreciate everyone's kind meows of purrs for me. This morning Fiona is going in to be spayed. I heard mom and dad say she might not like me at first-that she might hate me. It may take her time to warmup to me. Who could hate me? I'm so darn cute! The plans were for mom and dad to drive to Minn to get her Saturday a 6 hour drive each way. But, my human big sis is having a baby anyday now.If she doesn't deliver by Friday then she is going to be induced friday. So,not only will I have a new hair-challenged sister/momma, there will be a human baby soon in the family. Everyone is excite. They don't know if it'sa boy or girl- it's a surprise. I can't wait for Fiona, I am very lonely - I need her company and I will offer her my favorite mousie and snowman to play with she arrives. How can she hate me then? I am giving her my all time favorite toys. Gotta go, I have been up all night talking to my outside kitty friends and I am pooped- Time for NAP!

Thank you!
I am overwhelmed by all the support, the well wishes, purrs, and tail wags. Shrek passed too young, he had an intestinal blockage that over took his little body. I had so many plans, show him all the best places to sun himself, the best blankies to snuggle under, and I was even going to share my favorite mousie with him. However, It was not to be. His momma is still upset- naturally. My momma and dad are sad too.
They don't know what they want to do about a playmate for me. I guess they have an option of taking his momma or another kitten from another mom. They don't know yet. It's still to early and everyone is still sad. I will keep you posted.
I want to thank everyone for the out pouring of support for me, my momma, dad , and Shrek's momma. This is a amazing community that I am humbled to be a part of.
Purrs to all,
Harry Spotter and his momma.

Devastating news
First I want to thank everyone for all their purrs, prayers and well wishes for my brother Shrek. My momma jsut found out that Shrek passed away this morning, he had a blockage, he was on meds but ir was just too much for his little body and passed away. I can't begin to tell you how sad I am, first Lady Harley who was like my momma and now my brother who was supposed to come here next weekend. I didn't even get a chance to meet him and he's gone. I'm so sad!

You guy's are the cat's meow!
Wow! I can't believe how many furry friends have visited me and left encouraging advice. What a great cat community, you are so welcoming to those of us that have a fur-disadvantage. I can't wait to visit all your sites and become your friend and follower.
You left me so many great ideas, and web sites to look at that I will be busy for a long time. Mom has not heard back from Advocate Hospital yet, but she is going to check out all those places you suggested.
Meow to all of you,
Harry Spotter, or you can call me - Spot!

Dogs only
Childrens Hospital in Chicago said they have a contract Rainbow Animals which is a dog only program. I contacted them and they said, they only accept dogs into their program. The volunteer program for Advocate Hospitals responded, they said I had to contact the hosptials individually to see, she knew that a few of the hospitals have pet visitors but that it is up to each hospital. I contacted them but have not heard back yet. It seems like my wish to visit sick children is coming to an end. I need to think of something else I can do to help out. Does anyone out there have any ideas for me?

Hope Children's Hospital
I asked mom to check with Hope Children's Hospital to see if I can visit there as well. Since I have a heart condition and have to see the heart specialist 2x a year and go through variuous testing I feel I can relate to the sick children. I don't know if they will let a cat visit, I know they let dogs visit as therapy but I don't know about cats. I wonder if there is such a thing as cat discrimination?

Pet Volunteer
I asked mom to email Chicago Children's Hospital to see if I can volunteer to visit the sick children there. There are programs out there for dogs but I don't know about cats visiting sick children or visiting nursing homes. Mom's checking for me. I hope I can give back to my community. I will keep you posted.

New brother
My first mama, the owner is going to bring Shrek half way to meet mom and dad. It will be a 6 hour drive for mom and dad each way. A new brother, I don't know about this. It could be fun to have a brother to play with, keep my company. They say he looks like me only without the spots- that we could be twins. Just in case, I'm staying home where it's warm and i'm hiding all my favorite toys.
