Hello everyone,
Fiona saw the vet today for her post op check-up. The lesions are less red and swollen but they are still there. In 2 weeks we need to start brushing her teeth and do the mouth rinse. That should be fun! The vet thought she heard a slight heart murmur, yes, a heart murmur. She will check for it again when Fiona goes back in 6 weeks. Her meds run out in 6 weeks and she is hoping that the meds will work or lessen the inflamation.
Fiona can't take meds for the rest of her life. We have to try the 2 month meds treatment first before we tackle having her teeth extracted. At least now we have Fund money to pay for a chunk of that when the time comes. If she has a heart murmur that's other ball game. 2 cats with heart murmurs who need special care and one with serious dental problems. Oh boy! If it were not for the generous friends at the CB I don't know what we would have done. One thing at a time right now. Spot is still on his special meds until Sunday. We have not heard him cough or sneeze so we are hopeful that this round of special meds did the trick. If not, then he needs to go to the heart specialist. I will say it again...Oh Boy!
Ps...We are still experiencing computer problems. I am hoping to get my laptop back this weekend so we can get back to visting all of our friends.

Well it is good news that the lesions are getting better. Hopefully the meds will make it so she can keep her teeth - at least for now. And maybe the vet just misheard and thought it was a murmur. When Virgil was a baby they thought that he might have one but when he went back (and every time since) he was fine. We are sending lots of purrs and prayers to both kitties, and we hope that the heart murmur turns out not to be there!
We are happy to hear the lesions are not as red and swollen, that's some good news. Hopefully they will go away very soon. Sorry to hear about the possible slight murmur. We're hoping the vet misheard, like Amy said above.
We are continuing to send both Fiona and Spot lots and lots of healing vibes and your family lots of comforting vibes!
I hope the sounds the vet heard aren't there when you go back. Special healing purrs.
Thanks for the report.
Thank goodness for all the generous folks at the Cat Blogosphere and especially for Gracie, holding all the auctions.
It does make you feel good, to have all that support.
I'm hoping the heart murmur will go away, too. Sometimes vets do "mishear" them.
You are all being brave and taking such good care of little Fiona. If love alone could make her all better, she would be the healthiest girl around! Anyway, we are keeping all paws crossed that things will improve, one day at a time.
Purrs and Woofs,
The Poupounette Gang
We are still purring so that Spot and Fiona can get all well at the same time...or separately, just get all well please!!!
Go away lesions!!! We too hope that the murmer was a mis-hear (it can happen) and little Fiona continues to improve. Good news about young Harry improving too!
Rumbly purrs to you both
Whicky Wuudler
We're purring for Fiona (and for you). We sure hope the next two weeks bring major improvement and those scary sounds are gone.

Yay, Spot...good to hear you are doing better! What was the new meds they put you on, I forget.
Fiona, we are hopeful for that little bit of improvement. Sammy is doing great and his mouth is healing and doesn't smell bad anymore and he is better about me touching his jaw again...but boy was he sore for a week!
We are glad the lesions have shown some improvement and hope they continue to improve. We also hope the heart murmur is a false alarm. We are purring for all of you.
Oh kitties. Please all of you feel better soon. I have my paws crossed.
Glad to hear there's some improvement in Fiona, and with Spot, as well. We hope for the very best possible outcome for you both!
It's good to hear that some little things are better. Baby steps... (or kitten steps, I guess we should say!)
