There's a Bowler on my Head !

Something exciting is happening at the Auction for Fiona today. You can own your very own virtual portrait by Ollie. My momma loves mine, look to the right at my side bar. I am such the Mancat. I am sure your momma would love a virtual portrait of you too on your blog. So please click on my Mancat portrait and put in a bid for your very own virtual original artwork.
I dressed for Mancat Monday~
I think I look like quite the Mancat in this Bowler Hat. It's much better than the brown reindeer hat with red puffy antlers protruding from it. Katie and Glogirly suggested I try the Bowler. It makes me look quite distinguished don't you think? The Black really stands out against  my pinkish skin. Now all I need is a suit to complete the ensemble.  What do you think about the Bowler Hat. Is it me or should I keep searching?
I need to give a shout out to Katie and Glogirly for this great  Mancat pic of me in the hat.

DERBY HATS & BOWLER HATS

In the United States, this hat is known as a "Derby". But in England it is known as a "Bowler". The derby is a dome-shaped rigid hat with a curled small brim and is traditionally made of stiff felt. It was created for an Englishman, James Coke in 1850s, and made stiff to protect the head. Peaking in popularity towards the end of the 19th century, it offered a midway between the formality of the top hat associated with the upper classes and the casual nature of soft felt hats worn by the lower middle classes. It was usually worn with suits or overcoats and symbolized male power dressing. It was the traditional headwear of London city 'gents' and has become something of a British cultural icon.

Don't forget to Please visit the Auction for Fiona. There is a lot of fun stuff going on over there and lots of surprises too.

We think you look great in the bowler - although being from the US when we saw bowler we first thought a guy who likes bowling!

We definitely like the hat. You look quite dignified. Perhaps a nice collar & tie would complete the look.

Yes Spot, this is much, much better! It's very classy, and suits you very well. Speaking of "suits", one of those might be a good idea, too -- otherwise someone might think you're a flasher! LOL!

I think you need an umbrella to go with it, too.

Oh Harry,

The bowler is purrrfect for you. You really do look dapper. If you get a suit, are you going to go with a bow tie or a long tie?

We are happy that your human likes your painting. Please let everyone know that the paintings at Fiona's auction are viurtual. We don't want anyone to think that they will get a real painting as we only know how to do photoshop paints. Hehehehe!
