Fiona's Weekend Roundup!

Where do I start? Lot's of news this week. We are still having problems with the modem shutting down. Comcast was here and said that a squirrel must have chewed through the wires. He was supposed to replace both wires but only replaced one. He checked the connection, it worked and he left. If he would have waited longer than a minute he would have seen the connection disconnect. I have to call Comcast again and send another guy out to fix the other wire. Very Frustrating!

I want to try and explain our Wordless Wednesday photos. Mom was trying to set the table for Easter dinner, however Spot and I had other ideas. Spot was under the table trying to tag me, and I was outside the table trying to tag him. We had such a good time playing. Although, mom was not all that pleased. She had to re position the table cloth at least 5x until she gave up and let us play until dinner time. Then we were sent off to the bedroom and locked inside so they the family could eat in peace. How Rude!

I went to the vet for my dental checkup on Tuesday. Dad took me and forgot to dress me in my favorite pink girly sweater. How could he take me out and not dress me appropriately? Anyway, the vet said that the right side of my gums looks good, the antibiotic treatment worked. The other side is better but still red. They still want to give it more time to heal before they start pulling teeth. No antibiotics, just treating my water, the mouth rinse, and brush my teeth. Then I have to go back in a few months to see if it is any better. I was shaking so much from the cold room that they had a hard time checking for the heart murmur. She thinks I am ok.. If I had my pretty sweater on I wou ld not have been cold and shaking and the vet might have gotten a better picture of my heart.

Mom and dad are so grateful that they have the money from the auction to pay my vet bill this week and take Spot in for his heart ultra sound. We don't know what we would have done without all your contributions.

Mom and dad also heard that they are getting their travel approval soon for the adoption. They have been waiting forever to get my two legged sis and now it is finally  happening. I hear she does not like cats. Oh....no!

We have so much to be thankful for.  We don't get many awards and when we do we feel so honored and special. We received an award from Missy Blue Eyes. We love Missy Blue Eyes and her mommy. They have been great fur friends, we don't now what we would have done without them.

Awards as you know come with special rules, so here we go:

STEP #1

Each recipient must share four things about themselves that represent the four colors of the mood ring: Pink, Blue, Orange and Green.

STEP #2

Each recipient must choose four COLORFUL friends to give the award to. Don't forget to say who they are and give a link to their blog. If you'd like, add in a little something about why you've chosen them.

STEP #3

Be sure to post the MOOD RING AWARD badge in your blog post and a link back to your friend that gave you the award. Of course you should thank the person who gave it to you. And thank Katie for coming up with such a fun idea.

Blue: Spot says this is an easy one for him. He is all about the Blue. He says he has three blue spots, a blue tail, and a blue toupee under his Bowler. Without the Blue he would not look like the dapper British Mancat that he is.

Pink: This was a no brainer for Fiona. She says she is all about the Pinl. She says her belly is pink,, her nose, and that she loves her frilly very girly pink sweater. She is a girly girl at heart. She wishes that her mom and dad would buy her some pretty pink sun dresses for summer.

Orange: Spot says he likes to eat orange peels.

Green: Fiona says that when she thinks of green, or see's green grass, she thinks of the green fields of Iowa where she came from.

This is very hard for us, we have so many wonderful fur friends from all over the world. Picking 4 is so difficult for us. I will try to pick 4 that do not have this award.

Orange: When we think of orange we think of Gotchi. He is one handsome orange mancat. http://gotchiogato.blogspot.com/

Blue: This is easy-Pierro. He has an amazing blue blog. I think of him, he reminds me of me.  He is quite the Mancat always loving, thinks of others. He has ears like me too. http://thecornishkitties.blogspot.com/

Pink: Puddin..What screams pink more than Puddin's Blog. We love Puddin and their adventures. http://mykittyadventures.blogspot.com/

Green:  Beyond the Garden Gate. I think of all their wonderful spring , flower and garden pictures. It's such a pretty blog. http://beyondthegardengate-beth.blogspot.com/

These are the 4 blogs I am passing this beautiful award to. It was hard we have so many wondeful friends that I want to give it to. I am not good at linking things back. So nothing is linked in this post. Sorry!

I want to thank Misty for giving us this unique and colorful award. We are honored and very thankful to have so many friends that have supported us. I want to thank Katie as well for creating the award. She is one talented kitty.

That is it for this week. I hope you made it through it all without going to sleep.

I'm pooped, Time for High Tea and a long kip!

 Have a great weekend!

What a super groovy award! And MOL at playing at the dinner table! Glad to hear your gums are getting better and they will be all fine when your meds are finished! We're sure your biped will fall in love with you. Then again, she really doesn't have much of a choice, huh>

We know how frustrating it is to deal with Comcast - it is just awful. We had them out so many times at one point it was ridiculous. So we ended up going to their corporate investors page, getting the email addresses of the higher ups and contacting them - that got some action! You might want to try it!

And we are glad that your teeth are getting better but it is too bad you didn't have your sweater - it has been cold in this area this week, and I am guessing that didn't help.

And that is very exciting about your two legged sister coming soon - we bet that once she meets you she will learn to love cats!!

Congratulations on the cool award, you are both very colourful. Glad to hear there is improvement. Keep it up.

Maybe you could give the internet a good wack with a hammer in the old days that was how you dealt with technical difficulties.

Well done on your award!!

Thanks for commenting about our washing day. Until we started blogging we didn't realize what a treat it is to be able to dry the washing on the line. Luckily where we live it gets dry 8 months of the year, and it is just in the winter that we have to have a little laundry system inside. Our house is very little too, and so there is no room for a dryer anyway.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy to hear that Fiona's dental check up was good. We hope that she continues to improve.

My human just wanted me to mention something that was on your bloggie a few days ago regarding getting rid of ants. I'm very sure your mom and dad are very careful, but just in case they didn't know, essential oils, like peppermint and lavender, can be toxic to cats.

The following is an answer from the ASPCA website when someone wrote in asking about using peppermint oil to get rid of ants:

"If ingested, the peppermint plant and its oil could indeed potentially cause harm to your cat. Cats are especially sensitive to peppermint oil, and effects such as gastrointestinal upset, central nervous system depression and even liver damage could occur if ingested in significant quantities. Some peppermint oil formulations also contain aspirin derivatives, which could result in additional toxicity. Furthermore, if inhalation of the volatile oil were to occur, aspiration pneumonia may be possible. Based on this, we would not recommend using peppermint leaves or oil in areas where your cat is allowed access."

Hope you can get your computer problems fixed. Our mom says really bad words when our compute misbehaves.

Congratulations on your award! You really do have a very interesting blog! So glad Fiona is improving. Glad to hear your adopted sister will be arriving soon. Your folks have got to be tickled pink!
Thanks for passing along the award. The reason I decided to be award and tag free was that is simply requires much time with some of the awards to post and pass the award and I follow over 80 blogs - just doing that and keeping current and commenting (plus work, the house, garden etc) keeps me pretty busy already. I hope you understand that I feel grateful for being selected though! Have a wonderful week!
Hugs, Beth
